Sydney Trathen is a senior Speech and Hearing Sciences major from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, who will graduate in May Summa Cum Laude. She started on the women’s volleyball team all four years and finished second in school history with 4578 career assists as a setter and led her team to three NCAA tournament appearances. Sydney earned All-PSAC and AVCA All-Atlantic in three of her four years and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in her senior season. She was the student speaker at this spring’s Scholar-Athlete banquet and will likely be Edinboro’s nominee for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year. Sydney became the eighth Edinboro student-athlete in history to receive an NCAA Postgraduate scholarship and will begin Kent State/Akron University’s consortium audiology doctoral program this fall.
