Edinboro University has received national recognition in new rankings from College Affordability Guide, an online resource for prospective students seeking a high-quality, affordable education.
College Affordability Guide named Edinboro University No. 1 among not-for-profit colleges and universities across the U.S. on the 2018 Top Online Schools for Fine Arts list. Noted in the rankings were Edinboro’s Master of Arts in Art Education and Master of Arts in Counseling – Art Therapy programs.
Dr. Erinn Lake, executive director of Edinboro’s School of Graduate Studies and Research, said the recognition is just the latest to highlight the quality and affordability of the university’s online programs.
“Edinboro University has a long history of offering superior-quality arts programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level,” she said. “Online learning offers greater flexibility to our students who have family and work commitments, as well as those who are outside our geographic area.”
The rankings take into account tuition, financial aid distribution, graduation rates and student loan repayment rates. For consideration, schools were required to have a minimum of 500 students enrolled, one or more alternative methods for students to earn college credits and at least 20 percent of students who are Pell Grant recipients.
Edinboro University is one of four universities in Pennsylvania to be ranked among the top 14 and one of three institutions in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. Also recognized by College Affordability Guide were the University of Florida (No. 3), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (No. 5) and Harvard University (No. 12).
“We are thrilled that College Affordability Guide recognizes the value of Edinboro University’s educational offerings and is helping us to share that accomplishment beyond our campus,” Lake said.
The accolade is one of several national recognitions that Edinboro University has received for academic excellence and value.
Edinboro University offers online master’s degree programs in education, art therapy, communication studies, nursing, counseling and social work.
