Student Publications

English and Philosophy

Check out Chimera, the award-winning literary publication of English students at PennWest Edinboro. This journal of literature and art is published once a year, highlighting and showcasing the best work from Edinboro’s undergraduate students.

Chimera

Student writers of the English and Philosophy Department collaborate annually with student artists from the Art Department in the production and publication of the literary/arts journal Chimera. Its contents include poetry, fiction, and visual arts products created by students from across campus. English students serve on the literary team, jury submissions, edit accepted pieces, and submit their own work for publication.

The magazine’s annual debut is celebrated in a gathering that has come to be called the Chimera Soirée.” The journal routinely wins national and local awards for content and design.

The Magazine

Students enrolled in ENGL 308: Literary Editing Practicum edit and produce an online literary journal of undergraduate poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and comics. The Magazine appears each Spring and features only the most compelling creative work. Check out the most recent issue.

The Spectator

English students hone their skills as writers and editors for the Spectator, the PennWest Edinboro student newspaper housed in the Department of Communications, Journalism, and Media.
