What type of behavior warrants a referral? Any self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, erratic behaviors that disrupt teaching or campus activities, or behaviors that might compromise safety should be referred. When in doubt, make the referral. If you feel there is an immediate concern or a threat, call University Police at (814) 732-2911.
What happens after I make a referral? The Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation (C.A.R.E.) Team will review the information provided and make a recommendation regarding appropriate action. The C.A.R.E. Team is here to help.
What is the C.A.R.E. Team? The Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation (C.A.R.E.) Team is a collaborative interdisciplinary team of campus-community members that addresses the growing need in the university community for a centralized, coordinated, developmental intervention for employees, students and visitors in need, prior to a crisis.
