Dramatic Activities

English and Philosophy

PennWest Edinboro student actors, faculty directors and writers provide the campus community with a vivid and exciting performing arts scene, filled with dramatic activities, creativity and talent.

Be There When the Curtain Goes Up

Our student actors and actresses live for that moment when the curtains are drawn and the lights are directed at the Old Union Theatre stage of the Diebold Performing Arts Center. The stories our students tell through music and show resonate throughout the theater and the campus community. Each story means something unique to every performer and audience member, and our student performers are proud to bring out that emotion as they act out every tale, making each performance come alive.

Involving themselves in productions sponsored by the faculty-directed Dramatic Activities program, the student-directed University Players’ productions and the students of Alpha Psi Omega’s local Gamma Kappa cast live and thrive on the stage as they rehearse, produce and deliver their dramatic productions throughout each academic semester.

PennWest Edinboro students also have the opportunity to practice and develop their skills with the seasoned directors, performers and set designers of the Laugh/Riot Performing Arts Company, an area theater troupe that stages many of its productions in the Old Union Theatre and draws on PennWest Edinboro’s undergraduate talent.
