centers, hospitals and child welfare agencies, within the military and in private
at Edinboro University?
Edinboro's Department of Social Work prepares undergraduate and master degree graduates
for competent and effective social work practice.
Rigorous curricula focus on the importance of human relationships, social and economic
justice, cultural competency, advocacy for oppressed and at-risk populations, lifelong
learning and active participation, contributions and leadership in the larger community.
Extensive field education gives students a range of learning experiences and opportunities to develop and apply
social work knowledge, values, ethics and skills.
A recent study revealed that 96 percent of Edinboro's social work graduates obtained
professional employment in the field. Alumni of the B.S.W. degree program have considerable
success in admission to graduate schools.
